Here’s a poem for the Nu-to-Yu written by the maker of our blue ribbon prize at last week’s Fall Fair.
There’s a picture, in the pocket,
of our beloved island store.
It’s where you donate plenty
then buy back so much more.
You can buy a double flat sheet
to make a grocery bag.
The proof of where you bought it
is right there on the tag.
Double flat imagination
peaks incentives for creation,
with fabric paints and letter shapes,
buttons, threads and binding tapes.
All found beside the fabric barn
beyond the mugs, beside the yarn,
For modern style, high end, unique
the rack for that is marked “boutique”
Thank volunteers for work well done
Thank woman farmers too
Glass beads will catch the beams of light
that shine on all of you.
