June news

Nu-To-Yu (NTY) is happy to announce it will continue its extended hours through the summer months. Fridays and Saturdays are buying days from 10 am to 4 pm. There is a 25 customer limit in the upstairs area at all times as NTY does not participate in the cheek by jowl shopping philosophy. When there is a line up outside the store there is a 15 minute shopping time limit upstairs as a courtesy to those waiting outside.  Masks are highly recommended but not mandatory at the time of writing. When possible we replenish the upstairs shopping area prior to opening on Saturday.

Accepting donations on Saturdays from 11am to 2 pm offers weekenders as well as full time islanders the ability to shop and donate on the same day. But (there is always a but), we can not accept donations on Fridays as there will be no room for Saturday’s donations. Donation days are: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am to 12pm sharp and Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm, or until our shelves are full. Remember to bring Patience with you on Saturday please!  Please do not overfill bags or boxes which are limited to 2 bags or boxes per household per day. Large items such as chairs, tables, rugs are accepted on Tuesday and Thursdays only. As we accept seasonal items seasonally it is always helpful to phone 250-629-2070 prior to coming in with out of season items as well as large items such as furniture.

Pride month and Canada Day memorabilia and decorations are now out in the store. A(nother) reminder that applications for post secondary grants need to be in by the end of this month. Thank you Diane R. for organizing this for yet another year !

First time visitors: We are a cash only store. There are ATMs at the Driftwood Mall.  Small denomination bills highly preferred as our quality is high but the prices are low. Cheques are accepted from full time island residents only. There is a $10 minimum amount for cheques. We do not do cash backs on cheques nor on Nu-To-Yu gift certificates which operate on a declining balance (available from the cashier). There is just one change room open so consider wearing clothing that is easy to take off and on or, alternatively, place sample clothing over top of.

It will be begin to look a little bit like Christmas in July. Christmas decor, primarily ornaments, will be put out starting July 6 as a potential Pender memory to take home with you. Three weeks only.

August 5 is the Silent Auction at the Driftwood. The store will not be opened Saturday August 5.
